David Boxer

Dr. the Hon. David Boxer, O.J. was born in St. Andrew in 1946. He lectured at George Mason University before returning to Jamaica in 1975 to take up the position of Director/Curator of National Gallery of Jamaica. David Boxer was one of the leading art scholars in the Caribbean region and a noted authority on Jamaican art, particularly the work of Edna Manley, Intuitive art and early Jamaican photography.
